Company
Deinos is an AI company that builds and operates other companies. It is in its development stage.1
The name
δεινός (deinos) is ancient Greek for something wondrous and terrible at once. In Sophocles' Antigone, the chorus sings that many things are deinos, and nothing is more deinos than a human being. The power was always ours. So is the responsibility.

The dust
In the same play, a woman covers her brother's body with dust against a king's decree. The grains that form our name, and every image on this site, are that dust: what one person can still do when power is wrong. A few grains in every image move against the wind.
The founding line
We are aware.
We are responsible.
A statement of responsibility made by people, about the power of what they build. It is not a claim that any machine is aware.
Two houses
Two houses, one standard. The wondrous needs the terrible taken seriously. The terrible needs a reason to keep going.2
Working here
The Short Week rule applies to everyone who works at Deinos: when AI saves time, the hours come back to the people who did the work. No roles are open yet.
